If I’m asked to supply more information or go for a medical, will
the premium increase?
Just because you are asked for more information it doesn’t
mean that your premium will increase.
Once your application has been made to the Insurance Company
you might be asked to supply additional information about you job, your
hobbies or your health. This is because the Insurance Company has decided
that, based on the information supplied on your application form, you
might represent an above-average risk.
However, just because they have asked for more information
it does not necessarily follow that your premium will be higher. The insurance
company’s decision will be based on the extra information they receive
which may well indicate that your risk is actually within their normal
limits. In this case your original quotation will stand.
For around 88% of applications made on the Internet the
original price quoted applies.
If the Insurance Company decides that you represent
a higher risk, then you will find that your premiums are higher than originally
quoted.
